ABOUT THE TOURNAMENT

20 YEARS OF IMPACT AT PEBBLE BEACH

This marks the 20th year of the PURE Insurance Championship Impacting First Tee, which has been pairing up First Tee participants with PGA TOUR Champions players and amateurs for a week of mentorship and fun at Pebble Beach. For First Tee’s teen participants, this experience expands their horizons as they prepare for their futures – both on and off the golf course. Many First Tee participants spend years working toward the goal of playing at the PURE Insurance Championship, one of First Tee’s full slate of life-changing participant opportunities. Through these events, as well as the programming First Tee chapters offer across the country, First Tee is fulfilling its mission to impact the lives of young people by building character and instilling positive values through the vehicle of golf. First Tee’s programs teach kids to manage emotions, resolve conflict, communicate and more – all while also helping instill an appreciation for a sport they’ll be able to play long into adulthood. First Tee’s network encompasses 150 chapters with programs delivered at nearly 1,600 golf courses, more than 11,000 schools and more than 1,900 youth centers in all 50 states and select international locations. In 2022, First Tee impacted more than 3.4 million kids and teens, with alumni going on to play professional golf and work in the golf industry, as well as a host of other fields including medicine, law, science and arts, often citing the impact their coaches and the program had on their development.

MEET THE 2023 JUNIOR FIELD The 80 participants, ages 14-18, were selected by a national panel of judges based on their personal growth and life skills learned through First Tee’s programs, as well as their playing ability.*
